I love to add spinach because I am getting the health benefits without the smoothie tasting like a vegetable drink. The sweetness of the banana and chocolate protein powder overpower the spinach.

Mix a frozen banana, spinach, nut butter, protein powder, and almond milk in a Nutribullet or high speed blender. If you want to make it into smoothie bowl, use ½ cup almond milk.
Other Add-ins
Here are some other ingredients that I like to put in my smoothies.
- hemp seeds
- coconut oil
- berries
- cacao powder
- chia seeds
- matcha green tea
- turmeric powder (plus a little black pepper for absorption)
- ginger powder
- flax seeds
- black strap molasses
- rolled oats
Can This Smoothie Be kept Overnight in The Fridge?
You could, but I don't recommend it. Smoothies are best made fresh, so that you get all the nutrients.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1-2 cups spinach
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter or chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1 scoop chocolate flavor protein powder - I used Vega All-in-One
- 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tablespoon cacao nibs (optional)
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in a blender or Nutribullet.
