This sweet and fruity no-churn Dark Cherry Acai Vegan Frozen Yogurt is lightly sweetened making it a healthy treat!
This Dark Cherry Acai Vegan Frozen Yogurt is sweet and fruity. The taste and consistency reminds me of sorbet. The only reason I didn’t call it sorbet is because it has coconut milk yogurt in it.
This frozen dessert has been my latest craze. I love the balance of sweet and tart flavors. To the dark cherries and creamy acai, I added lemon juice, maple syrup, and coconut milk yogurt.
What I created was an addicting frozen treat. Seriously, I can’t make this stuff fast enough, it disappears so quickly.
It’s a good thing that Costco sells large bags of dark cherries and acai packets. It not only saves me money but I get to make large quantities of this frozen yogurt.
There’s something really satisfying about this fruity frozen yogurt after being in the heat, or in my case while I am out in the sun, which I often am. I think it’s the tart flavors. I crave sweet, tart desserts in the Summer months.

No Ice Cream Machine Needed
This Dark Cherry Acai Vegan Frozen Yogurt has a great consistency just by using a food processor. It just requires making smaller amounts or letting it sit out for awhile.
After it freezes totally solid, it isn’t quite as creamy, but that’s the trade-off for not having an ice cream maker and getting a larger batch.
Either way, I’m addicted. I made a larger batch than this recipe calls for and I am a happy camper.

Tips for Making Vegan Frozen Yogurt
- Use a food processor and work in batches, if needed.
- Freeze for a couple of hours to get a firmer consistency.
- If you freeze overnight, let it sit out for 15 minutes or more so that it’s scoopable.
- Smaller batches are better for consistency. That way you don’t have to completely freeze any of it, but it tastes good either way.
- As always, taste as you go. You may want more or less sweetener or coconut milk yogurt. Everyone’s taste buds are different. Also, you may get a batch of cherries that aren’t as sweet as mine.
