One of the best ways to attract what you want in your life is by making a vision board. Not sure where to start? Let me help.
What is a vision board?
It is what the name implies - it is a board that has your vision on it - a vision of what you want your life to look like. It has your goals, dreams and aspirations. It will help you to visualize and focus on what you want. It is a place of inspiration, and a tool for manifesting. It includes photos, words, and in my case, clay sculptures. It is an effective way to use the law of attraction.
Your brain responds to visual images. By seeing images of what you want your life to look like, you will be more enthused, and the Universe will respond to your enthusiasm.
Mine has a lot of photos of places I want to see, adventures I want to have, and hobbies I want to pursue. After about eight months of having my vision board up, I won a trip for two to Milan, Italy to see a fashion show worth $4,000. Three weeks later I won a trip to New York for four people worth $10,000. I also won a five nights stay at a hotel chain, gift cards, clothes, and more.
How to get started -
First, get some old magazines - some you have around the house or from a book store that sells used books. Look for magazines that feature all your favorite things: cars, travel, clothes, hobbies, music - you get the idea.
Next, is the fun part. Find photos of the things that you resonate with, and how you see your ideal life. Include experiences you want to have, exotic locations you want to visit, places you want to live, and the career you have always wanted. Find inspirational words, phrases, and affirmations. Include anything that makes you feel good. The idea is for you to get excited when you see these photos and words.
You can focus on one thing, or a few things. The main theme of my vision board is travel, but I have a few other goals on it as well. You can make more than one board if you have several goals. One could be a travel goal, and another a career goal.
- a garden, pool, vacation home, art studio, or meditation studio
- an outdoor kitchen, wood working studio, view of the ocean or mountains
- people skydiving, boating or jet skiing
Words to cut out:
- adventure, fun, travel, play and my favorite - free
- cities, states, countries, and continents you want to travel to
- success, abundance, thriving, prosperous, plenty, and fortune
- drawing, painting, playing, and creating
Next, glue the words and photos on a board and put it in a place that you will see it everyday. It can be portable, if you want to hide it away from other people. I have mine on construction paper that I attached to cork board. It is attached to my desk so that I see it everyday.
A vision board can change as you change. Think of it as a process; as being fluid. Just because you cut out photos and glue them on paper doesn't mean it is set in stone. Paste a new photo over an old one, or make a new board altogether. Mine could use some updating, because my goals have shifted, and so have my dreams. Remember that what you put on your board is about what you want in your life right now.
Lastly, get excited when you look at the photos and words on your vision board and allow the Universe to deliver your vision to you. Believe it is on its way.
