Here is a step by step tutorial on how to make paper beads. Make them into a necklace, bracelet, or earrings.
How to make paper beads
Making paper beads is really easy. It just takes a little practice to get them to look symmetrical. After rolling them, add a finish and they will last a long time. The sealer will even protect them from water.
You can even customize the colors to your liking by using markers or colored pencils.

What you will need
- paper (junk mail, 7 Gypsies variety pack of paper, flyers)
- X-acto knife
- cutting mat
- adhesive (I use Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, but you can also use Modge Podge)
- Modge Podge (glossy or matte) or another sealer / adhesive
- bamboo skewer or bead rolling tool
- ruler
- pencil
- brush
1. First, mark the paper at inch intervals with a pencil.
2.Next, draw lines, connecting the marks. The lines will form long triangles.
3.Line up the ruler against the edge of one of the lines and cut the paper with an Exacto knife.
4.Starting at the wide end of the paper, roll tightly.
5.Dab a drop of glue at the end of the paper and smear with the brush.
6.Finish rolling, and coat with Modge Podge or another sealer. You will need to use two coats to get a good seal. Allow drying in between applications.
If you want to design your own, you can use markers, paints, glitter, etc.
String your paper beads to make a necklace, bracelet, or earrings.
