Maple Chipotle Baked Tofu

  • Mix adobo sauce and maple syrup. Cut tofu into 12 slices. Marinate in the adobo sauce and maple syrup for at least an hour to overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Bake marinated tofu at 400° for 20 minutes, flip and bake another 20 minutes, or until crispy on the outside.


You can use chipotle powder instead of adobo sauce. If you do, you'll need about 1 tablespoon chipotle powder and ¼ cup maple syrup. 
When you bake the tofu, the chipotle powder will caramelize on the tofu. It will look kind of like it's burnt, but that's the chipotle powder caramelizing and because of it's natural color.
If you prefer a spicier baked tofu, you can also use the chipotle pepper instead of the adobo sauce. You'll just need to blend it before marinating.
