โค๏ธ Why You'll Love It
- It is an easy recipe that's made in minutes and there's no need to strain it!
- It is all-natural and you can control the amount of sweetener.
- Making your own homemade oat milk is cheaper than store-bought oat milk.
๐งพ Ingredients
- Rolled oats: I used Bob's Red Mill certified gluten-free oats since I have a gluten sensitivity, which many grocery stores carry. Rolled oats blend well and come out creamy. I have not tried this recipe with steel cut oats, oat flour, or quick oats, so I cannot comment on the results.
- Maple syrup: Adds sweetness. You could use agave syrup, dates, sugar, or your favorite sweetener. You could also add stevia or another sugar-free sweetener to make it sugar-free.
- Vanilla extract: Adds flavor and enhances flavor.
- Salt: Enhances flavors. I like to use sea salt.
- Cold water

๐ช Instructions
Step 1: Add the ingredients to a high-speed blender or Nutribullet.
Step 2: Blend until smooth and creamy. Store in an airtight container or glass jar in the fridge.
๐ญ Tips
- Blend for 20-30 seconds in a powerful blender for the best results; over-blending gives a slimy texture.
- If you want to use this for creamer, start with less water.
- I adjust the amount of maple syrup depending on how I use it. I like my oat milk on the sweeter side for coffee and cereal but prefer less sweetener for a smoothie. Start with less and see how you like it.
- You can strain out the leftover oat pulp with a fine mesh strainer, thin tea towel, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag if you want to. Use the leftover pulp in smoothies or baked goods.
- Oat milk will separate when stored in the fridge. Just give it a quick shake before using it.
- Don't heat it up with your coffee; it will become slimy. Instead, add cold oat milk to your hot coffee.
- Add some freeze-dried strawberries for Strawberry Oat Milk.
