This Vegan Chocolate Syrup came about because I realized after buying some chocolate syrup from the store that I've made it before, so why wasn't I still making it?
I guess life gets busy and it can be easier to just purchase an item than make it yourself. But considering it only takes about 5 minutes to make, it's a no-brainer.
Not to mention, I like to save money and control the ingredients I consume.
This chocolate syrup recipe was inspired by my Chocolate Peanut Butter Sauce, which is one of my favorite go-to's to put on top of nice ice cream. I make nice cream with my Hurom Juicer, which is what's pictured in these photos.
I made the 2 ingredient nice cream with a combo of frozen strawberry and banana, but many times I'll throw in frozen mango, raspberries, and blueberries as well.

❤️ Why You'll Love It
- It's sweet, rich, and chocolaty. It tastes better than store-bought chocolate syrup and you can control the ingredients.
- You can add it to plant-based milk, ice cream, or use it as a dip for fruit. I like to eat it with apple slices dipped in peanut butter, then the chocolate syrup.
- It's made in about 5 minutes with only 5 ingredients.
🧾 Ingredients

- Cacao powder (or cocoa powder): I like to use cacao powder because it's minimally processed and it retains slightly more nutrients than cocoa powder. It is sharper and more bitter, so if you refer a milder, more mellow chocolate taste, go with cocoa powder. They can be swapped 1:1.
- Maple syrup: Adds sweetness. You could also use sugar, coconut sugar, agave syrup, or brown rice syrup.
- Vanilla extract: Enhances flavors.
- Water
- Salt: Enhances the sweetness of the maple syrup. I like to use sea salt.
