❤️ Why You'll Love It
- It's made with crispy tofu that's cooked in hot sauce.
- It has a balance of flavors, with creamy ranch dressing, spicy tofu, lettuce, and tomato.
- It's an easy weeknight meal.
🧾 Ingredients
- Tofu: I've used both extra firm and firm tofu packed in water found in the refrigerated part of the grocery store. You can use either one.
- Hot sauce: Use your favorite.
- Vegan butter: Adds a smooth creamy texture. I used Earth Balance. Use your favorite.
- Corn starch or tapioca flour: Since first publishing this recipe I found out I am corn intolerant. So I like to use tapioca flour now to get tofu crispy. You can use either one.
- Lettuce: Adds crunch. I like to use Romaine lettuce for sandwiches, but didn't have it when updating my photos. Any greens you like will work.
- Tomato: Balances out the flavors and adds a fresh bite.
- Buns
- Celery Leaves (optional)

💭 Tips
- When you cook the hot sauce and vegan butter, taste it to see if you want more vegan butter than what's listed.
- For crispy tofu, coat the tofu in cornstarch before frying.
- Add a few tablespoons of the hot sauce mixture after you've browned it so that it will cook on the tofu.
- Serve with vegan ranch dressing for dipping. This helps cool the palate from the spicy hot sauce and balances out the dish.
- Eat with celery sticks and cucumber to help cool the palate even more.
