This Chocolate Almond Butter is chocolate heaven! Spread it on toast, add it to other desserts, or eat it by itself. I could eat this by the spoonful it is so good.

When I first published this recipe I used raw almonds to make this creamy almond butter recipe. When I republished it I used almond butter because it is so much easier.

You get to control how much sweetener goes into it, unlike the chocolate nut butters found in the grocery store. I used maple syrup for this recipe so you don't have all the added sugar the store-bought versions have.

It has healthy ingredients. You won't find any palm oil in this recipe.

This cocoa almond spread tastes good on oat grahams, apple slices, or toast. It is a sweet treat that can be eaten any time of the day.

Another recipe with chocolate and almonds is my Vegan Chocolate Almond Pancakes recipe and my Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cups.

I also have a Vegan Peanut Butter Cups recipe.

    ❤️ Why You'll Love It

    • This vegan chocolate spread is sweet, rich, and chocolaty. It's a healthy way to satisfy your chocolate craving.
    • It is really versatile. Spread it on graham crackers, apple slices, or eat it by the spoonful.
    • It's made with simple ingredients. You can make it with raw almonds or store-bought almond butter.

    🧾 Ingredients

Chocolate almond butter ingredients on a cutting board with labels.
    • Almond butter or raw almonds: You could also use store-bought almond butter, raw unsalted almonds, or roasted almonds. You could also use cashews for cashew butter.
    • Raw cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder): Adds a chocolate flavor.
    • Coconut oil: Adds a coconut flavor. You could also use shredded coconut.
    • Pure maple syrup: Adds sweetness. You could also use agave syrup, coconut sugar, or date paste.
    • Salt: Enhances sweetness. I like sea salt. If you use a store-bought almond butter with salt, the amount of salt you use may be less.
