This easy Harissa Tofu recipe is my new favorite baked tofu recipe. Marinated in harissa sauce and spices, it is warm and comforting.

Eat it with rice or cauliflower rice. Add it to tacos, grain bowls, or pasta.

If you've never had harissa sauce before, it is a red pepper sauce with chiles and garlic. I used mild harissa sauce, but you can buy spicy as well.

Serve it with some Quinoa Tabbouleh, Spicy Cucumber Salad, or Hemp Seed Cauliflower Rice Pilaf.

Another recipe with harissa is my Harissa Hummus. Other baked tofu recipes are my Baked BBQ Tofu and my Baked Tofu Fries.

    🧾 Ingredients

Harissa tofu ingredients on a cutting board with labels.
    • Tofu: I used extra-firm tofu packed in water found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. You could also use firm tofu.
    • Harissa red pepper sauce: I used mild harissa sauce. You could also use harissa paste. If you like spicy food you could also use spicy harissa sauce.
    • Tamari: I used low sodium gluten free tamari. You could also use soy sauce, Bragg's liquid aminos, or coconut aminos.
    • Maple syrup: Adds sweetness and a rich maple flavor. You could also use agave syrup.
    • Cumin, coriander, and cinnamon: Add warm spice flavors.
    • Salt and black pepper: Enhances flavors and adds flavor. I like to use sea salt.
