This Sriracha Hummus is around the tenth or eleventh hummus recipe that I have created. Do I have a hummus obsession? Probably.
Am I ever going to stop creating hummus recipes? Probably not. I even have a dark chocolate hummus that tastes like a dessert but is pretty healthy.
I keep making them partly because those little 8-ounce tubs of hummus are just NOT worth their price. I also do it because hummus is one of those dips that is super easy to make, and making your own tastes better than store-bought.
I have found that once you have created your own personal basic hummus recipe formula, then you have it made. Pretty much all of my hummus recipes start the same way - with the same amount of tahini, garbanzo beans, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil. After that, I add whatever I want.
Another dip recipe to try is my Baba Ghanoush (Eggplant Dip). Another chickpea recipe to try is my Roasted Chipotle Chickpeas.

๐งพ Ingredients
- Garbanzo beans (chickpeas): Adds the texture, flavor, and creaminess hummus is known for.
- Tahini: Also a traditional hummus ingredient. Adds a nutty sesame flavor.
- Sriracha sauce or sriracha powder: Adds spice and flavor.
- Lemon juice: Adds a bright tart flavor.
- Garlic: Adds a pungent flavor.
- Water: Thins out the hummus. Mix first without water to see how you like it.
- Olive oil: Adds creaminess.
- Salt: Enhances the other flavors.
This is an overview of the ingredients. To see the full list of ingredients with measurements and instructions, see the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

๐ช Instructions
Blend garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, olive oil, and sriracha sauce or sriracha powder in a food processor until creamy. Add water if desired. It thickens up a little when refrigerated.
๐ญ Tips
- I like things spicy. If you don't like things too spicy, start with less sriracha to see how you like it.
- If you plan on serving it right away you may not want any water, especially if you use sriracha sauce instead of sriracha powder. It will thicken up a bit after refrigerating, so keep that in mind.
๐ฝ Serving
- Veggies: carrots, cucumber, celery, bell pepper
- Tortilla chips
- Crackers
- Pretzels
- Toast or baguette
- Pita chips or pita bread (if you know of a good gluten-free vegan brand of either, I'd love to know!)
- Taquitos
- Wrap
- Vegan hummus quesadilla
- Sandwich
- Tortilla pizza
- Tostadas
- Burrito
