This easy Spicy Red Pepper Hummus takes minutes to make and is cheaper than store bought. It's perfect for a party. Add it to a sandwich, pizza, or taquitos. Making your own hummus doesn't have to be hard or intimidating!

I don't think I'll ever get sick of creating new hummus recipes. I probably have around a dozen on the blog with several more waiting to be posted.
This Spicy Red Pepper Hummus was inspired by some store bought hummus I was gifted with. I had just broke my ankle, so it was a welcomed surprise. Anyway to make my life easier was a good thing at the time.
I liked it so much that I thought I would try and recreate it. Mine didn't come out quite as spicy as the store-bought version, which might actually be better for all of you.
If you haven't started making your own hummus yet, I highly recommend it. This red pepper hummus with spices takes only a few minutes to make and it is cheaper than store-bought. Those little tubs just aren't worth it.
I found that once I had my base ingredients down to how I liked them, I could add whatever flavors I liked.
I didn't start making my own hummus until starting the blog. I had followed someone else's recipe many years ago and was so unhappy with it that I could barely finish it. The experience turned me off from making my own hummus.
So even if you don't like this roasted red pepper hummus, which I doubt will be the case, don't give up on making your own hummus. Everyone likes different ratios of the base ingredients, which are garbanzo beans, tahini, garlic, and lemon juice.
If this is your first time making hummus, you may want to start with less lemon juice, tahini, and garlic, and taste as you go.
