A while back I went to an Indian restaurant for my birthday. On the menu was Chipotle Mint Lemonade.
I love chipotle in adobo, so I was intrigued. It was fabulous! I knew I had to create it at home.
The combination is so good! It is sweet, smoky, and minty. Another sweet and spicy recipe is my Lemon Kombucha with Cayenne.
It makes a great cocktail too. After tasting it as a lemonade, I added some vodka.

โค๏ธ Why You'll Love It
- It is sweet and spicy.
- It's made in minutes.
- It is a nice alternative to classic lemonade.
๐งพ Ingredients
- Chipotle powder: You could also use the adobo sauce that chipotle chilis come in or crushed chipotle chili.
- Lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice is best. I do not recommend store-bought lemon juice because it contains additives.
- Mint: I used fresh mint. Growing your own mint is an inexpensive way to have constant access to mint. I've had success growing mint plants in the past.
- Agave syrup: Adds sweetness. You could also use maple syrup or simple syrup. A couple of simple syrup recipes that may taste great in this lemonade are Vanilla Simple Syrup and Chocolate Simple Syrup.
- Water

๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ณ Recipe FAQs
Store-bought lemon juice has been pasteurized, which kills the nutrients. It also has additives. It doesn't have the health benefits that fresh lemon juice has, and it doesn't taste as good.
Mint lemonade is made with fresh lemon juice, water, fresh mint, and maple syrup. For this chipotle mint lemonade recipe, I added chipotle powder to add some spice.
