If you're trying tofu for the first time, these healthy Sriracha Baked Tofu Fries are a great place to start. The tofu gets crispy on the outside and the spicy sriracha powder gets baked into the tofu.

Here I've paired the spicy tofu fries with a creamy sweet chili mango dipping sauce. If your kids like spicy foods, then they'll love coming home from school to this healthy snack.

If they aren't into spicy, then I have some Baked Tofu Fries with herbs that aren't spicy. Just don't make the recipe for the Raspberry Chipotle Ketchup that they're pictured with. It's spicy and tangy.

    Sriracha Fries

    • Tofu: I used extra firm tofu packed in water found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
    • Olive oil: To coat the fries and to cook them.
    • Sriracha powder: Adds a spicy flavor.
    • Salt and pepper: Enhances flavors and adds flavor.

    Sweet Chili Mango Sauce

    • Mango: Adds a sweet flavor. You can use fresh or frozen mango.
    • Sweet red chili sauce: Adds a sweet and spicy flavor.
    • Sriracha sauce: Adds a spicy flavor.
    • Lime juice: Adds a tangy flavor. I recommend fresh lime juice instead of store-bought, which contains additives.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Recipe FAQs

What happens if you don't press tofu long enough?

The tofu will have to bake longer because there's more water in it. Also, the tofu won't hold its shape as well.

What can I replace fries with?

These tofu fries are a healthy replacement for fries. Other healthy substitutes are jicama fries, baked eggplant fries, cornmeal baked asparagus fries, and baked rosemary carrot fries.
