    🧾 Ingredients

    Ingredients with labels.
    • Granny Smith apples: I like Granny Smith apples for their tart flavor. You could use whatever your favorite kind of apple is. Another great way to use apples is my Vegan Chicken Salad Sandwich recipe.
    • Peanut butter: For a nutty flavor and creamy texture.
    • Coconut oil: Thins out the peanut butter and chocolate.
    • Chocolate chips: For a sweet chocolaty flavor.
    • Shredded coconut: Adds crunch and coconut flavor.
    • Walnuts: Adds crunch and nutty flavor. You could also use pecans or another nut.
    • Lemon juice: Helps to keep the apples from browning. Also adds a bright tart flavor. You don't need lemon juice if you're planning on eating them right away.

To see the full list of ingredients with measurements and instructions, see the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

    🔪 Instructions

Apple slices, chopped walnuts, and half a lemon on a cutting board. Bowls of melted chocolate and peanut butter next to a plate of apple slices.

Step 1: Wash, dry, and slice apples, removing the core.

Step 2: Sprinkle lemon juice on the apple slices if not serving right away.

Step 3: Put apple slices on a plate.

Step 4: Melt peanut butter with coconut oil in the microwave until melted.

Step 5: Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in the microwave at 30 second intervals. You don't want the chocolate to burn.

Apple slices on a plate with chocolate drizzle, then peanut butter drizzle.

Step 6: Drizzle peanut butter mixture and chocolate mixture on the arranged apples.

Step 7: Sprinkle chopped walnuts and shredded coconut on top.

Place in the fridge for the chocolate and peanut butter drizzles to harden before serving if desired.

    🥡 Storage

After coating with lemon juice they'll last 3-5 days in an airtight container.
